Students can drop by to visit with a counselor before school or during lunch.
They also can complete a form located in the counseling office requesting to speak with a counselor.
We hope that our counselors’ introductions will encourage our students to seek help, when needed.

Hi Everyone! This is my second year at Kopachuck, and I am ecstatic to be back again this year! I received my Bachelor’s Degree from the University of Washington (Go Huskies!), and have my Masters of Education in School Counseling from City University of Seattle. I work with all students at Kopachuck, and can help navigate issues and situations around academics, social, emotional, etc. My counseling office is an inclusive, safe place for everyone (this also includes my “virtual” office, as we navigate remote learning this Fall).
A few fun facts about me: I love the outdoors - especially hiking all over Washington. I’m into yoga, spending time with my husband and family, and visiting fun, new local coffee shops on Sundays.
Please reach out if you have any questions or concerns. I am happy to help in any way that I can. You can reach me via email at: firstname.lastname@example.org

Hey Coyotes! This is my first year as a counselor at Kopachuck Middle School. I was lucky enough to be a paraeducator at Kopa for the first half of last year, so I have had the opportunity to build relationships with staff and students. I have been a school counselor for four years. I received my Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology, as well as my Masters of Education in School Counseling, from Seattle Pacific University. I believe ALL students are capable of success. My goal as a school counselor is to advocate for students and help them reach their academic, career, and personal/social success. Fun facts about me: I am married and have two wonderful boys. We love to play disc golf, ride bikes, hike, and play games. Other hobbies I enjoy are reading and quilting. I am so excited to be a part of the Kopachuck team and I’m looking forward to serving our students and their families.

Our professional background equips us to work with parents and children in a number of helpful ways. Training includes a minimum of a Master’s Degree in Education with courses in personality and learning theory, child development and counseling techniques. We hold a counseling certificate from the State of Washington. However, we are not licensed psychologist/psychiatrists and do not provide therapy during the school day.
The school counselors are here to help you with your concerns. Please check in with your teacher to get a pass to the counseling office to sign up for an appointment. The counselors will send a note to excuse you from class when they are available to see you.
Parents can call the Guidance Department to arrange for student conferences as well.
