Welcome Back, Coyotes!

I am thrilled to welcome back our returning Coyotes and extend a warm greeting to all our newest members of the Coyote family for the 2025-26 school year! We have an exciting year ahead filled with great learning opportunities and memorable events.

To start the year off right, we have several important events planned, including Sixth Grade Orientation and Open House. Please be on the lookout for the dates and details coming your way in August.

I am also excited to introduce our new Assistant Principal, Dawn Musgrove, who will be partnering with me to make this school year one of our best yet. Together, we are committed to creating a positive, welcoming, and inspiring environment for every student.

We can’t wait to see you all back on campus soon!

Kopachuck Announcements and Information

  • 6th Grade Orientation- August 25th 9:00am – 11:00am

  • The Peninsula School District is committed to creating equitable and inclusive learning environments. To achieve this, PSD will supply all basic educational school supplies to Pre-K through 12th grade students. Click the link below to see supply lists.

  • The first day of school can be stressful for students that aren’t familiar with a building or staff, so we have scheduled 6th grade orientation for all NEW 6th Grade Coyotes! This includes:

    • ALL incoming 6th graders

    The goal of this day is to create a smoother transition into middle school by providing a block of time for a “practice schedule run.”  Students will pick up their class schedule, then follow that schedule as they meet their new teachers.  ASB student leadership will be present as guides in the hallway and to assist students.

    Kopachuck Open House- August 28th 5:30pm-7:30pm

    Even if you were a Coyote last year, the start of a new school year can still be exciting and stressful!  All students are welcome to visit Kopachuck on 8/28/2025 5:30pm-7:30pm. Open house includes...

    • Walk through their class schedules

    • Open up and move into their new lockers

    • Reconnect with some of their Coyote classmates and staff after summer break!

    All students- and their families- are welcome to stop by this “open house” session for as long or as short as needed to feel more ready for the first day back the following week.

     

  • School begins at 8:15 am and ends at 2:45 pm. For organization and planning, each student will receive a Kopachuck student agenda, courtesy of the Kopachuck PTSA and KMS. 

  • Bus schedules will be posted around the school entrance windows and may also be found on the district web site on the Transportation page. Routes and up to date pickup information is also available in the MyStop App.

     

  • We know that everyone is excited to know what their school day will look like on September 3rd.  We are currently working on cleaning up schedules and making sure new students are scheduled into classes.  

    We will have schedules available online on powerschool portal August 27th.  Students schedules are based on student elective requests and clustering of special programs.  In order to be fair and consistent with all families, schedule changes will only be made when an error has occurred such as a missing class or a core class is duplicated.
