Welcome to the 2026–2027 school year! I hope your summer has been filled with rest, fun, and time with those you love. As we prepare to open our doors for another incredible year, I want to take a moment to express how excited we are to see all of our returning Coyotes and to welcome our incoming 6th grade students, as well as any students new to Kopachuck Middle School. Whether you're a familiar face or joining us for the first time, we are thrilled to have you as part of the Kopachuck community.
At Kopachuck, we believe strongly in the power of partnership between school and home. Working together allows us to support every student academically, socially, and emotionally. Please know that our staff is here for your child, and we welcome open communication throughout the year. If you ever have questions, concerns, or just want to check in on how things are going, don't hesitate to reach out to your child’s teachers or our office, we’re here to help.

To kick off the school year on a positive note, we have two upcoming events we'd love for you to attend:

Orientation: We invite both students and parents to our Orientation on Monday, August 24th, where you can pick up and walk your schedule, get pictures taken, set up your locker and other activities. We are trying something new this year to welcome all students and families.

Open House: We invite all families to our Open House on Thursday, September 3rd, where you can meet teachers, visit classrooms, and learn more about the exciting year ahead.
We can’t wait to get started and are so grateful to have you as part of the Kopachuck community. Let’s make this year one filled with learning, growth, and Coyote pride!

We are excited to welcome students and families to Student Orientation on Monday, August 24! This event is designed to help students feel comfortable, confident, and prepared for the first day of school while giving families an opportunity to complete important back-to-school tasks.
Orientation Schedule
-
6th Grade: 9:00–11:00 a.m.
-
7th Grade: 11:30 a.m.–1:30 p.m.
-
8th Grade: 1:30–3:30 p.m.
Families with students in multiple grades may attend whichever session works best for their schedule.
During orientation, students can take school pictures, pick up schedules and supplies, learn about transportation and activities, locate classrooms and lockers, purchase ASB cards or yearbooks, visit KPTSA, drop off medications and health paperwork, and meet with school counselors.
If you are unable to attend, students can still pick up their schedules and school supplies on the first day of school. Picture retakes will also be available later in the fall.
Please note that while some teachers may be available, the primary focus of Orientation is helping students become familiar with the building and completing important back-to-school tasks.
This event is meant to be for both students and parents, not a drop off and pick up like has been in the past.

We’re excited to share that, once again this year, all essential school supplies will be provided for students at no cost! Each student will receive pencils, pens, highlighters, composition books, colored pencils, a pencil pouch, and a pair of headphones. Supplies will be distributed at Orientation on August. 24th. Any student that does not pick up school supplies will be able to get them on the first day of school.
Students will be given a second pair of headphones prior to state testing, so it’s important they keep their original pair in a safe place for daily use. Additional headphones can be purchased for $1. Paid with cash or charged to student account.

Students will be receiving a new NEO device for the 2026–27 school year. These district-owned devices are provided to support student learning and should be handled with care. Students will receive their new NEO device during the first two weeks of school. Please be on the lookout for more information regarding device care and other responsibilities related to the NEO. |

This year, our Open House will take place after the school year begins! We would like to invite all students and families to join us on Thursday, September 3, from 6:00–7:30 p.m. This is a great opportunity to meet your student’s teachers, learn more about the school year, and connect with the staff who will be supporting your student’s learning and success. Student schedules will be available for pickup at Student Orientation on August 24 and will also be available online through ParentSquare. Please understand that we are unable to make schedule changes due to our very tight master schedule and the fact that schedules are built based on student course requests. We do not make schedule changes to accommodate requests for different lunch periods or classes with friends. Schedule changes will only be made when a student is missing a class period or has a duplicate class on their schedule. |
This year, we will be starting each school day with PACK. All students will begin their day in their assigned PACK class, where they will receive important information and connect with their classmates and teacher.
School begins at 8:15 a.m. Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday. Wednesdays are our late-start days, with school beginning at 9:15 a.m.
Please see the attached bell schedules for specific start and end times throughout the school day.

Fall Sports starts Monday, September 8th. Cross Country is open to all students 6th-8th grade. Girls volleyball and boys soccer are open to 7th and 8th graders. Both volleyball and soccer are cut sports. Students making the team will be required to purchase an ASB card ($20.00). To turn out for these sports, students must complete the district required paperwork and have a sports physical on file. The sports paperwork and registration needs to be completed through final forms no later than Friday, September 4th by 3:00 p.m. |
Hello Kopachuck Families,
As we prepare to begin the new school year, we want to share important information about parent pick-up and traffic flow at the end of the school day. For our seventh and eight grade families, this is not a change from last year.
Please review the following expectations:
Keep to the Left: All cars should stay as far to the left as possible when traveling behind the building. This allows buses to pass safely on the right and move toward the front of the school for student pick-up.
Do Not Stop or Park by the Portables: The area next to the portables, marked with painted lines, is a strict no-stopping and no-parking zone. Please continue driving through this section without stopping. This area must remain open so buses can safely turn the corner and move through the loop.
Pull All the Way Forward: As you enter the pick-up area, please continue to pull all the way forward to the white stop line.
Check the Mirror: Before moving forward, use the traffic mirror to check that their is enough space to pull forward.
Clear the Blue Lines: Only advance past the white stop line if there is enough space ahead for your vehicle to completely clear the blue striped lines. If there is no space available, please remain at the stop line until traffic moves forward.

If you are picking up a student after 2:00 PM, please do not park in the bus pickup lane. We need to keep this area clear for buses, which arrive between 2:15–2:45 PM.
Instead, please park in the lower parking lot when picking up your student after 2:00 PM. This helps ensure that traffic flows smoothly, allows buses to enter safely, and makes it easier for you to exit at the end of the day.
