Dear Kopachuck Families,

Dear Kopachuck Families,
What a great school year it has been so far! It’s hard to believe we’re already halfway through October. We have some exciting and important events coming up over the next few weeks that we want you to be aware of.

Parent-Teacher Conferences will be held at the end of the month. This is a wonderful opportunity to connect with your student’s teachers to discuss how they’re doing in class and ways they can continue to grow in their learning. Conference sign ups are now open.

The end of the first quarter is coming up on Friday November 6th. For many classes, this marks a progress checkpoint, but for quarter-long classes, it will be the final grade. Encourage your student to finish strong! Quarter classes will transition on Monday, November 9th.

Thank you for all you do to support your student and our school. We appreciate your partnership as we continue working together to make this a great year at Kopachuck!

Warmly,
Joshua Emmons
Principal
Kopachuck Middle School

Conference and Bell Schedule

We are excited to announce that conferences will be held Oct. 26th, 28th, and 29th  This is a valuable opportunity to meet with your student’s teachers and discuss their progress.
Conferences will be arena-style in the commons, where all teachers will be available at individual tables. This format allows you to meet with each of your student’s teachers in one location, moving between teachers as your schedule allows. Please sign up for only one hour block per student, as this time will give you the chance to meet with all of your student’s teachers.

To reserve your preferred conference time, please use SignUpGenius at the links below:

If you experience any issues signing up, please contact Debbie Karry for assistance.
We look forward to partnering with you to support your student’s success!

Wednesday Morning Test Makeups

Starting Wednesday, October 21, students who need to make up or complete an assessment will have the opportunity to come to school on Wednesday mornings to complete their tests. Test make-up sessions will begin at 8:15 a.m. on Wednesdays.

Parents/guardians will need to provide transportation to school for students attending these morning sessions.

To ensure the assessment is ready when students arrive, students must communicate with their teacher the day before to confirm that the test is available and that they are able to complete it during the Wednesday morning session.

Thank you for your support in helping students complete their assessments and stay on track academically.

Lost and Found

Our Lost & Found is completely full! If your child is missing a jacket, water bottle, sweatshirt, or lunchbox, please take a moment to look through the bins when you come in for Parent-Teacher Conferences. Please also remind your students to check for their missing items during the school day. All unclaimed items will be donated at the end of conference week.

Concessions During Sporting Events

This year, we are excited to offer concessions at all of our home athletic events! Students and families will be able to purchase snacks and drinks after school and while watching our Coyotes compete.
Please note that all concession purchases must be made with cash. We are unable to accept credit or debit cards.
All proceeds from concessions go directly back to our students through ASB and help support student activities, programs, and opportunities throughout the school year.
We hope you’ll stop by the concession stand, grab a snack, and support our Coyotes!

Wrestling Coach

Looking for a Way to Get Involved?

We are looking for two wrestling coaches to support our Coyote wrestlers during the upcoming season!

If you are interested in coaching wrestling at Kopachuck Middle School, please reach out to Mr. Emmons at emmonsj@psd401.net for more information. He can share details about the position and help you with the application process.

We would love to have you join our team and help support our student-athletes!

Wrestling Sign-Ups

Wrestling Sign-Ups Are Open!

Any student interested in participating in wrestling can now sign up in FinalForms. The season begins on November 1st, and students must be registered by that date in order to participate.

Please log into FinalForms and complete the registration as soon as possible. A reminder that all students participating in sports at Kopachuck must have an ASB card to compete in their first match.

Yearbook Sales

To guarantee you’ll have a yearbook at the end of the year, be sure to purchase yours now. Yearbooks are available during select sales events for $35 with ASB and $40 without ASB. This sales event will close on October 31st and will not reopen until January 6th. Yearbooks can be purchased online or at school through the bookkeeper.

Transportation and Early Pickup Reminders

Bus/Transportation Changes
Students must have a note from the office to get off at a different stop on their regular bus or to ride a different bus. Please call in transportation changes before lunch so we can get the note to your student during lunch.

Early Pickups
Even if your student knows they're being picked up, they still need an early dismissal note from the office before leaving class.

• Picking up before lunch? A paper note sent with your student that morning is the most reliable way to ensure a timely dismissal note.
• Picking up after lunch? Please call or message the office before lunch so we can get the note to your student during the lunch period.

Please note that calling classrooms when a parent arrives unannounced can be a significant disruption to instruction. Whenever possible, we ask that pickups be arranged ahead of time so we can have your student ready to go.

Thanks for helping us keep students safe and the office running smoothly!

Important Announcement: Student ID Cards & Bus Ridership Program

Our school bus ridership program begins on Wednesday, September 23rd
Students who had their pictures taken will receive their official Student ID cards on Wednesday, September 23rd during lunch. Please review the following key details to ensure a smooth start:
  • Daily Requirement: Students must bring their ID card to school every day.
  • Uses: The ID card is used both to purchase school lunch and to scan on and off the bus every morning and afternoon.
  • Forgotten Cards: If a student forgets their ID card, they must report to the main office in the morning to get a temporary bus pass from Mrs. Karry.
Please Note: Temporary bus passes are for bus transportation only and cannot be used to purchase lunch.

KPTSA Corner

A huge thank you to everyone who joined us for our first PTSA meeting last week! We loved seeing many familiar and new faces! Want to join us? PTSA meetings are held on the second Tuesday of every month at 9:15 AM at Kopachuck. Everyone is welcome — come hear what’s happening, share your ideas, and more!

 Join the PTSA!
If you haven’t joined yet, now is a great time! Membership helps support the work we do throughout the school year.

And if you’re interested in volunteering at PTSA events — especially Coyote Corner and Fun Fridays — make sure you’re a member! Volunteer sign-ups are shared through our PTSA member emails, so joining is the best way to stay in the loop when opportunities become available.
